Tech Training has been presenting the Practical Belt Conveying Course in Brisbane since 2006. This is a three day training course for those in the mining and related industries wishing to improve their knowledge of Conveyor Design, and understand the problems associated with these complex dynamic systems. This course is suitable for engineers employed in the design, operation and maintenance of belt conveyor systems, from graduates with a few years experience, through to experienced engineering and maintenance personnel. The objective of the course is to give engineers a full understanding of the conveyor design and equipment selection process, together with the features of belt conveyors that should be avoided. This knowledge can then be used, not only in the design of new conveyor systems, but also with the operation or maintenance of existing conveyors.
The course covers the fundamentals of belt conveyor engineering including:
- Belt width and velocity selection
- Conveyor power demand
- Belt sag
- Drive traction
- Information on conveyor arrangements
- Belt, idler and pulley selection
The Practical Belt Conveying Course is also offered as an in-house program for companies wishing to develop the skills of their own personnel. This in-house course program is offered on an individual basis so please contact TTA for more information, or a proposal to offer the course at your chosen facility. All enquiries welcome.
